Most everyone associated with RF from the early days knows me. Newcomers probably do not.

Duke Nukem was hot in 1995-96 and my entire family played the game. We used a 166mhz Canon PC for the "host" and everyone dialed into the Host through a 9600 Baudrate Modem.
The game known as "BLOOD" came out around this time (took that title as my gaming name) and we got into it as well for some time.

My Wife, D (a.k.a. Luna), her three brothers and of course myself, all shot each other for a while in those games.

RF hit the scene in 2001 and one of D's brothers brought the game home and it was an instant hit with everyone. Again, as in the Duke game, we had Family Frag Fests a couple of nights a week and on weekends when we weren't going out or doing other things.

I was invited to join the (TOXIC) clan and did so.
We gamed with RF until the haters moved into the game and then discussed moving on to something else. No agreement was ever reached and so we disbanded and a few of us followed one of our former clan members to organize a gaming site called BloodRave.com
This was totally successful and is still very active.

We went clan-less for a while as we tried out some newer games on the market. We had quiete an impact with Unreal Tournament.
We played Star Trek: Elite Forces II for a while. It died on the vine and never really took off.

A Prequel game came out called Stalker and thinking it would gain more interest we went that way for a while. It fizzled.

Then along came Soldier of Fortune II : The Helix.
We charted a course into that game and found the action, the playability and weaponry to be much like RF, but better.
Punk Buster, the anti-Cheat program was active in this game as well as many of the new games coming out, so things were much better in stopping the cheaters at the door instead of having to deal with them in the server.

We came up with the clan name OSS for Old School Soldiers, since many of us had been gaming from the Duke Days and so forth.
Once this was set in motion, our clan became a force to reckon with in the Soldier of Fortune game.
We held the Number 1 clan Position in Death Match for 2 years.

Several of our members also played UT and were tremendously successful at that game.

Currently the OSS squad in Battlefield 2 is one of the best, if not the best, groups in the game. Rarely losing a scrim, everyone is always gunning for =OSS*Roid= currently the Number 1 ranked player in the world.

We have fun. Clean gaming, no cheaters ever and have an amazing group of talented shooters in our midst.

Although I am a HUGE America's Army game participant, OSS clan has never undertaken that game.
We are currently looking for another game to divide and conquer but nothing has really grabbed our yearnings to date.

Some members have delved into COD and it's several versions.
Some have gotten into QuakeLive including myself, and find it interesting but not really a game we will clan base towards I don't think.

Also , Currently I don't get into RF but once a month or less.
Having moved from Idaho to Alabama some time ago, my youngest daughter took a cautious interest in the game after watching and playing her older sis for a while. She plays as school time and other interests permit.

I maintain my interest in America's Army, Battlefield 2 and a couple of others and of course still belong to the OSS clan.

So now everyone knows more about me.

Voltz is actually in SoFII, but the leader gave up on it, so now we just have a SoFII division with no members, lol.

KMorgan is my youngest daughter with a current interest in playing RF.
Luna is my step-daughter and has no interest in any games online or otherwise for a number of reasons.

I run the Crimson Servers from home on a couple of different PC's scattered throughout the house.
KM enjoys playing the game as a diversion from her school and etc I guess.
If not for that they wouldn't be up.

And allow me to apologize for your getting banned Cupid. I know that is a hassle.

BTW, Cupid....I still enjoy SOF2 on rainy day weekends.
So does Voltz have a dedi server running in the game?
Does your members use stock game settings or Realism mods of any type?
It would be fun to jump in that old game and shoot some players or Team up with some of your guys in some TDM or CTF.
CTF in SOF2 is sooooooo better than RF's version.

53 and counting. Definitely Old School. We're talking like I was around when Dirt was invented or something like that.
I intend to keep counting a long time.
Hell, I have grandkids living in Virginia.
If I could get all these shooters in the family from across the U.S. together at one time we could have our own clan.

My family has populated:
Alabama, Idaho, Virginia, North Carolina, Mississippi, Utah, Oregon and Florida.

Are you guys playing CSS? I messed with that game a short while. I prefer BF2 or AA over CSS. I couldn't help but feel the weapons are "nerfed" in CSS.
Spoiled with the so called "realism" weapons in those other games I've become accustomed to playing I guess.

Ahhh, the avatar. Well hell. There is a story behind that one I just don't know what it is.
The full sized verision of the picture also shows the little girl's older sister with her mouth agape in total shock that her little sis is birding someone. I like to think that whomever is on the receiving end of the gesture probably deserves it.

I am somewhat disappointed in the New LS forum (or should I say "lack of forum). Don't get me wrong, I think the forum looks great but nothing is happening. Has the recession affected that as well?
I still maintain that even though the game is bottom shelf today, that SOF2 would have been a fun game to get LS into rather than the CSS softie. Jim mentioned that he had SOF2 but I don't think it was the Double Helix version which is the one to have of course.

I truly enjoyed the "Around the House" thread we had going also.
It's interesting to see where people live, their yards and such.
I was disappointed that no one posted a picture of their bathrooms or Kitchens (joking), but everything else was cool.

We should start that thread up again over at LS and stir it up a little.

Not really D. The only one I play online right now is RF, and it's just when I have a little time to kill. I've grown bored of many of the maps (despise CM, so usually leave when it pops up). I may venture into others, but CSS doesn't really interest me. I'll give your website a look, and will probably check out AA.
