Hey Shota, you answer to 'Why is a chicken?' is wrong. It would be...

Q: Why is a chicken?

A: I don't know why, codolsten codolsten codolsten pie.

Shota, how would you rephrase Word's previous post so that it makes sense?

There are multiple ways. The first would be to ask him directly; this would be a bad route. Seeing as how many of his replies are nonsensical and, frankly, unbecoming of a dignified answer such as I could provide, we must look to alternative methods.

One of the better ways would be to examine his post carefully, then attempting to extrapolate something coherant from his mad ramblings.

My first attempt:

Quote

BUH BAH BEE BUH BAH BOO BUH BAH BAW

I was not very successful, unfortunately.

Attempting a second time,

Quote

OoooOOOoOOOOOoOooooOOOoooOOOOooOOOOOoOOOOOOOOoo

Again, not very successful.

Finally, I came up with this:

Quote

O great master of all, fount of knowledge, and lover of wisdom, under what circumstances would wearing cream coloured polka-dotted ties be appropriate?

This one makes sense, and is easily answerable thusly: Any time you see two skunks climbing separate trees.

But there are other ways, as I mentioned. Channelling the Goddess of Fortune, Love, and Happiness, Zsa Zsa Gabor, we shall attempt to make sense of it.

...

Zsa Zsa has spoken, and she has told me:

Quote

Find a pink poodle and then throw it into a wall. Reading its entrails will give you the answer.

So there you have it. Zsa Zsa Gabor has spoken wisely, and you may find yourself an answer. However, a word of caution: I do not, under any circumstances, condone any sort of violence towards animals. Especially Pink Poodles. I was merely relaying the information that she has passed on to me.
I am awesome.
I've got a question for Shota. Why is Word's avatar a surfboard with eyes and a mouth?

It has been said that the best form of a surfboard is that with an eyes and a mouth.

However, that is not a surfboard. It is a vagina dentata cleverly disguised as a surfboard. Therefor, if you are looking to surf, beware of that certain one. It might devour you whole.

You are all wrong, this picture is a cat called Chio chi chi (literally meaning Chio's farther in Japanese) and changes it technicolour fur to many psychedelic colours, such as red and blue. It is a character from the anime 'Azumanga Daioh'.

shota, which do you feel is more important: duty to others or to oneself?

also, can you tell me the origin of the term "laissez faire"? Not which language it comes from, but the story of how it passed into common usage.

I think that if you can satisfactorily answer these two questions, (one objective, one subjective i.e. you can't look it up) I will be convinced of your genius.

Edit: and too be fair, word was quoting an old english childrens rhyme.

Duty to one's self cannot be achieved without duty to others. Duty to one's self cannot be found through self-centredness, nor can it be found through doing what one desires. It has nothing to do with self fulfillment; one's selfish desires and whims are of no consequence. In order to completely satisfy one's own duties, one must live for other's duties. In fulfillment of these duties to others, only then can one complete one's own duties.

Laissez faire is a common term derived by Adam Smith or something. It means that you should leave the economy alone, letting it do what it will.

In doing this, the economy will eventually materialize as a solid entity, evolve, and then eventually destroy the whole world as we know it. The only way to prevent this is to form a group of five young teens, who each have the ability to morph into some rainbow coloured fighters.

The battle that lies ahead between these five and the massive, self-aware entity known as the economy will be amazing. Children all over the world will be captivated by the spectacles, and a television series will be run and span over ten years.

Finally, the world will be saved through the use of strong chemical solvents, a sponge, and a rubber ducky.

Sorry shota. both wrong. One IMO, the other objectively wrong.

The term "laissaz faire" came from a meeting of French finance minister Jean-Baptiste Colbert with the heads of the merchant guilds of France. when Colbert asked how he could be of help to the mercantile classes, they replied "laissez nous faire". (to be fair, you could have looked this one up) And it doesn't mean to not touch the economy at all. It simply means that government should not artificially redirect commerce into channels that it would not take normally, because this precludes profit and therefore incentive.

Turning to the less objective answer, What do you consider "one's own duties"? And if one's own duties consist exclusively of other people's duties, then what are we here for? If nobody's desires are of any importance, then it follows that your desire for food and shelter is also of no importance. If my duty consists solely of getting other people what they want (which doesn't matter in the first place) and their duty consists of getting me what I want (which also doesn't matter...what?)...wouldn't it be simpler for me to take care of myself, and for others to take care of themselves?

Bear in mind, I reserve the right to choose the people whom I will help, and how I will help them. I submit that the "duty" you talk about does not, in fact exist.

Here is your model in general form.

If:

Individual desire does not equal duty

And if:

Individual duty = duty of others

Then: the duty of others is to give me what I do not desire.

For example, I desire to live. Only by living can I fulfill any desire or any duty to myself or others. But according to you, my desire to live is mutually exclusive with my purpose or "duty" to others.

Hm. I don't think I like this model.

Genius label revoked.

I found the rest of the Winnie the Pooh riddle....

"codolsten codolsten codolsten pie,
A fly can't bird but a bird can fly'
ask me a riddle and I will reply.

codolsten codolsten codolsten pie,
why is a chicken? I don't know why
ask me a riddle and I will reply.

codolsten codolsten codolsten pie,
A fish can't whistle, neither can I
ask me a riddle and I will reply.

If you try very, very hard and believe in yourself, you just might. Keep in mind, however, that Cheeseburger is a very special individual. Mere mortals such as you and I cannot hope to achieve the greatness he has, so be very respectful when approaching him. In addition, giving him expensive gifts may improve his mood towards you, helping him to remember who you are. Keeping these things in mind may help form a tight, unbreakable bond with him.

Look through a mirror pointed up into the heavens. Spin around thirty times while staring deep into the mirror, drink a shot of vodka each turn, and then when you're done, look up. The sky will be filled with many, many Jupiters, and perhaps a Venus or three. Maybe even a Saturn.
